How a Gym App Brought Four Seniors Together
One of the coolest parts of building MyGymBuddy is seeing how people actually use it once it’s in their hands.
These photos capture a moment we didn’t explicitly design for—but absolutely love.
Four high school seniors recently connected through MyGymBuddy at Get Fit Athletic Club. One of them is a foreign exchange student, new to the area and looking for ways to stay active and meet people. Through the app, they found each other, coordinated a time, and ended up on the pickleball courts together—turning what could’ve been solo gym time into a shared experience.
That’s the energy behind MyGymBuddy.
While our core focus is helping people find gym partners in real time—whether that’s for lifting, cardio, or staying consistent—we’ve always believed fitness looks different for everyone. Sometimes that means weights and machines. Other times, it’s a paddle, a ball, and a competitive game of pickleball.
Seeing users organically use the app for activities beyond traditional gym workouts is exactly why we’re building flexibility into the platform. In response to moments like this, we added a pickleball badge to the Get Fit Athletic Club gym card, making it easier for members to see what activities are available and connect around shared interests.
These early stories matter a lot to us.
They’re a reminder that MyGymBuddy isn’t just about workouts—it’s about connection, community, and lowering the barrier to being active, especially in a new place or new phase of life.
As we continue building toward our public App Store launch in 2026, we’re incredibly grateful for our early beta testers who are shaping the product in real time. Your feedback, creativity, and willingness to try something new are helping define what MyGymBuddy will become.
And if this is any indication, we’re excited for what’s next—on the gym floor, on the court, and everywhere in between.

Partner Gyms on the app
We’re incredibly grateful for our partner gyms across Indiana who help bring MyGymBuddy to life. Partner gyms are highlighted at the top of the list, making it easier for users to find trusted places to train. We’re excited to roll out the new pickleball badge on the Get Fit Athletic Club gym card—giving members even more visibility into the activities available at their gym. None of this would be possible without our early gym partners, and we’re excited to keep growing together.
